Buckwheat is fast becoming a staple superfood worldwide, sharing the limelight only with Quinoa Grain, and for all the right reasons too! The protein in buckwheat is a high quality protein, containing all eight essential amino acids, including lysine.

What Is Organic Buckwheat?
Energizing and nutritious, Buckwheat is a plant cultivated for its grain like groats, which are small, crunchy and have a distinctly triangular appearance. It is available throughout the year and can be served as an alternative to rice or made into a porridge.

It has been a staple in eastern European diets for decades and while many people think that buckwheat is a cereal grain, it is actually a fruit seed, related to rhubarb and sorrel. This means that buckwheat doesn't produce gluten as its not closely related to wheat or other similar species!

There are various popular Buckwheat Preparations available other than Raw Buckwheat, with the most popular alternatives being Buckwheat Flour and Roasted Buckwheat (Known as Kasha)

Why Should I Get Organic Buckwheat?
Buckwheat is fast becoming a staple superfood worldwide, sharing the limelight only with Quinoa Grain, and for all the right reasons too! The protein in buckwheat is a high quality protein, containing all eight essential amino acids, including lysine. This makes Buckwheat one of few plants capable of producing a true "Complete" Protein, drawing even more similarities to Quinoa grain!

And not to be outdone by Quinoa either, Buckwheat is exceptionally nutritional, surpassing all equivalent grains, it is a very good source of manganese and a good source of copper, magnesium, dietary fibre and phosphorus.
