What Can I Do With Potassium Bicarbonate?
Organic Fungicide - Potassium Bicarbonate is used as an organic fungicide. It works as a contact fungicide inhibiting the fungus mycelium development and increasing the pH to control fungus in crops. It considered a safe and non toxic fungicide for use in organic crop production.
Fire Extinguisher - Potassium Bicarbonate performs well as a fire extinguisher and is a common ingredient in powdered fire extinguishers. The slightly basic nature of potassium bicarbonate helps neutralise chemical fires and smothers the combusting material to put out the flames.
Neutralise Acidic Soil - Potassium Bicarbonate is used widely in agriculture as a soil neutraliser due to its basic nature and low toxicity. The powder is dissolved in water and the solution is then applied to the soil to increase the pH level.
